Note - Venue is Changed for Work Shop
The Pediatric nephrology division of Christian Medical College, Vellore proudly announces the "2nd Pediatric renal transplant conference - urological challenges in children" to be held on 7th and 8th July 2023. This will be preceded by a Pre-conference workshop on "Preparing the bladder for transplant" on 6th July 2023. Renal Transplant has now become a reality for children many of whom have known nothing other than frequent visits to hospitals, multiple hospitalizations, catheters, and needles. Though transplant does not obviate need for all of this, a better quality of life is assured. Planning for transplant brings up issues unique to children and opinions may vary. We hope through various discussions and sharing of opinions we are able to make for a better life for our children.
The meeting promises to be a real academic feast with a range of topics covering areas which form a challenge to both the treating nephrologists and urologists. Eminent faculty including pioneers of pediatric kidney transplant in India as well as from other world class centers, both nephrologists and urologists, will be leading the discussions.
The Scientific program will lay special emphasis on urological issues in children while preparing for transplant. Some of these issues, which are not commonly discussed in the usual scientific forums, will be beneficial to all clinicians and surgeons who take care of children with chronic kidney disease. Besides these, other exciting topics will include immunological aspects while preparing for transplant, donor selection, intra-op and post-op care of transplant patients, some immediate and late transplant complications, and the status of deceased donor transplant in children.
This discussions will be of prime interest to young postgraduates and specialists who are looking at a career in nephrology and urology. Our target audience includes pediatric and adult trainees in nephrology, urology and pediatric surgery and would also include social workers, transplant coordinators, nurses and general practitioners interested in increasing their knowledge and awareness of kidney transplant.
The registration fee is attractively priced for students to encourage postgraduates to attend. Please do mark these days on your calendar. You will be assured of a great learning experience. We hope to see you all here.
We look forward to seeing you here in Vellore.
